Port Hedland

After leaving Millstream-Chichester we decided to free camp on the side of the road at an overnight stop. When we got there at about 2pm there were about 4 other caravans, by nightfall there were 20+. Didn't get much sleep as the road trains were LOUD.
The next morning some idiot had run out of fuel and had been sleeping in his car since 2am. He'd pulled over a couple of trucks for fuel, but no one was able to help. Luckily we had 20L of fuel in a Jerry Can and gave to him (good Karma). He didn't stop in Karratha or Roebourne and thought he could make it to Port Hedland!

First impression of Port Hedland was that it was about 20 times bigger than we thought. Once again mining- this time FMG, BHP and a Rio Salt Mine.

No camping this week! Queen bed to sleep on and an awesome house and great friends to spend the week with.

Had a pretty lazy week in Hedland -  mainly fished during the day and relaxed at night.
Sjaan and Rob have and awesome pad with spa- which we used quite a few times.

The coastline (once the port is out of sight) is beautiful. Pretty Pool is very nice and we spent a lot of time at Finucane Island - mainly fishing.

Rob took us out on a mates boat and got some mudcrabs, photos below.

Had a great week with Rob and Sjaan, was very relaxing and great to spend time with them and their kids Neve and Reef.
